COURSE OVERVIEW

We breed horses for many different reasons apart from the obvious need to increase the number of animals, breeding is also undertaken to improve the quality of the animals. By selecting the mother and father of a new foal, a horse breeder has a certain degree of control over the characteristics of the new animal. This course will not only teach you about the many different aspects of breeding horses, but also all about horses themselves in order to improve your options for work in the Equine industry.

Over time, breeding has allowed us to produce animals more suited to specific tasks such as breeds with greater endurance so they can be ridden longer distances, breeds that run faster for racing and breeds with greater strength to be used for heavier work. If you’re interested in all things horses and specifically the breeding process then this course is for you!
